So, i just wondered how many of you have competiton...uh... hiccups? I mean, it happens to us all, right?

Of course it happens to everyone at some point. Beginning of the season last year I was having major confidence issues with our showjumping but we got over it with help from my very confidence building instructor and from june onwards he didnt roll a pole in the limited competitions that we did. Only two weeks ago did we stop on the xc and retired as he hasnt stopped like that in nearly two years but I think that was not helped by the ground. I hope that our comp next weekend is just going to show me that it was just a small blip.
I find going out to a venue and hiring it helps to build up confidence away from home without the added pressure.
You'll get through it and will come out even better on the other side! Keep your chin up!

Yep ! It happens to everyone at sokme point.

Three weeks ago we were flying round a 1.25m and buzzin'....but the last two weeks we have failed to complete a 1.05m and a 1.10m

It's all confidence and what takes months to build up can be lost overnight. It IS so frustrating as you say...

Just got to remmber they arent machines and we all have off days.
Plus if they were perfect ALL the time wheres the fun?????

Ah hon, dont get down about it. 9 out of 10 times you do really well and like every one says, we all have our off days and so do the horses.
Fee is such a good horse and like you say, you'r both still new to eachother and if that was your first 1.05m class a couple of stops is nothing. It will only get better.
