I'll get the childishness out first, basically I'm taking my section a to her and my first in-hand show. I know that she isn't the best example of a section a but I'm going for her to have the experience and for hopefully a fun day out. But (here comes the childish part) I'm scared that people at the local show will make fun of her because she isn't the best example, don't get me wrong she is not ugly (she's my beautiful girl) but I know she is not a great section a. I've never done in-hand shows before, usually stick to sj, but as I don't have my sj pony atm I'm giving in-hand a go. So will we be highly scrutinized and laughed at??
Now for the next silly, yet not childish question. How is the best way to use a grazing muzzle. I've never had to use one before but because I only have my little pony with a field to herself I need to use one. So I'm wondering whether it's better to leave it on in the day or the night and whether all the good work will be undone when I take it off.
*congrats and thanks if you finally got to the end!*

If anyone does laugh then they have a problem- not you or your pony. Why not have a go- enjoy yourself. I doubt very much that any one will laugh but if anyone does make a comment then dont take it to heart- horsey people are notoriously bitchy and thats usually because they are jealous!

As for the muzzle. You need to train the pony to wear it gradually. Dont just put it on and leave it on. Build up from half an hour at first and gradually increase the time. Remember that if the grass is too long or too short then the horse cant eat with one and they also need to learn to drink with one on too.

Good luck at your show!

You get cow-bags in all aspects of the horsey world...you must have noticed them when you were Show Jumping? But at the end of the day you do what ever you want with your pony and s0d the lot of them.
You never know, you might just win...that would really get the tongues wagging!!!

There is a muzzle called FieldGuard, i have never used one but there are a few people on my yard that really rate them highly.

Go out and enjoy your pony :D
