Just wondering if anyone has bought or went to view any of Tyersal equestrian/stud farm (Leeds, w Yorkshire) they have some nice heavier horses. Just looking at nearby people who have heavier breed youngsters.
Please share your experiences if you have bought a horse from them or have a horse from one of their studs etc, or viewings etc, just anything really from More recent times please. Thankyou!

Thanks for your reply, please can I just ask is this from a recent experience? Did you buy one from there or a viewing etc and how recent? Hope you don’t mind me asking, thankyou

No I haven't bought one, we have Appaloosas and I went to view one, which we didn't buy. The same family are running the stud, they have just switched focus. They have donkeys too.
They were also several years ago the subject of a BBC TV programme about puppy farming.
Still the same family, still the same (leopard) spots. If I were you, I would Google them. You could look on FB Dodgy Dealers pages too.

Thanks for your reply’s so far… also if anyone has any recommendations on ones that sell heavier breed horses (cob x’s etc) in the north east area and nearby then please add them into Thankyou again

Hi yes, I’ve seen the tv programme and online articles from puppy farming from years ago but hoping things had changed but don’t want to be buying in to issues even though it be full vetting and bloods etc but still wanted some experiences and opinions from others as well Thankyou

I wouldn't. They basically import as cheap as possible from Ireland and (re)passport then also sell on cheap very quickly. Horses aged wrong, aggressive selling tactics, just not worth the risk.
ah what a shame, not worth the risk but just a shame. Thankyou

Why would anything change? One family member was banned from keeping dogs but the others took over. If anything, I guess things have got worse, the photos look like real bin end dealers these days. There seems to be plenty of money in it anyway.
