U-Guard - anyone used it on horses with suspected ulcers?

My horse is a bit grumpy about being groomed, tacked up and rugged. Back and saddle are both fine, but he persists in trying to bite me. His coat is great, he's not depressed and is a forward going ride, but it has taken me a good 6 months to even begin putting condition on eventhough he's not fussy about his food. He came to me straight from racing so there is a very high (93%) chance he has an ulcer anyway. My vet doesn't seem concerned, but his grumpiness worries me. I've heard some good things about U-Guard so thought I'd give it a try. Has anyone used it? What did you think?

Thanks for your help :D

I have used it once Ulcers have been diagnosed and treated. I don't believe it will actually treat the ulcers. They need to be cleared up first then use U-Guard as a preventative.

My young horse had two scopes, gastroguard then U-Guard from then on. He seemed fine on it and ate it very well. I also ensured he had lots of fibre, lots of turnout, corn oil and good hay

gimmie a couple of weeks and ill let you know! We've just had some in to try on one of our pointers - there's a problem there somewhere but cant find it so trying ulcer guard now to rule that out. I'll let you know!
