Just wondered if anyone had used U guard plus before, and what their results were like?
Or had any advice/ experence of dealing with stomach ulcers.

I use it & have been extremely impressed, the only problem is I'm too scared to take him off it now!

Jim is a long-term cribber who may or may not have ulcers (he's also a total stress-head & I'm unwilling to have him scoped if I can possibly avoid it). After a couple of very bad colics earlier this year which were lucky to avoid surgery the vet suggested trying U-Gard Plus. To say I was sceptical is putting it mildly, I've tried lots of digestion & cribbing supplements & the only thing they effected was my bank balance! Indeed most of them he wouldn't eat even if hand fed. However in desperation I decided to give it a try & the results were incredible. Within days his cribbing was reduced & now he's rarely seen to crib at all (though he's still kept mostly in electric & I do still put Cribbox on his door, though only once a fortnight where before daily applications didn't even slow him down). He's eating loads more hay, is calmer to ride & handle & is far less picky about his feed.

I definately recommend trying it.

Management wise feed as much fibre as possible, turn him out if you can, feed minimal cereals (if you can get it I've found Saracen ReLeve useful) & try to minimise his stress levels. Try to make sure he's never left without food, if weight gain may be a problem then soak his hay.
