Ucerax tablets !! Advice needed

One of mine is currently on ucerax as had allergic reaction and has been quite itchy in himself , started Thursday and was very off colour today and bit sleepy , spoke to vets who advised dodnt usually get the side effects of being sleepy on the ucerax could affect appetite a bit , have dropped the dose down now to see if that helps him any , anybody else used ucerax before ? X

Yes, have used it with no apparent side effects.

We used it for quite a few years with no problems at all though when we were first prescribed it the vet did say it could have a slight sedative effect/cause some drowsiness. I guess the level of this might depend on how many he's taking

Ucerax is a first generation anti-histamine - the most common side effect is sleepiness - at least in humans Doctors used to prescribe it for that purpose as there are better more effective anit-histamines available now. I would ask you vet to double check - there is always a possibility of sleepiness with any antihistamine.

Thatis a very sedating antihistamine in humans, so the same would apply to animal use
