UGH!! Snow mud and more mud!!

Are fields are just mud!!! and i mean mud we have 7 acres and 5 ponies and it usualy winters pretty good but this year following the summer we had its all just turned to mud!! It did start to get slightly better and we could see hints of spring grass but now its all been destroyed by the snow and the horses...im just praying that the weather will get better and the ground will dry up :( Because right now all i seem to be doing is throwing hay and my horses giving them a quick kiss checking for any injuries and then just leaving!! :(


Are everyone elses fields the same?? i was on my way to my dentist over in telford and went past some fields backing onto the river severn and was pleased to see they were mud too :D How are your horses and fields holding up with the recent snow and wet weather???

My field isn't too badly churned up, but zero grass growth. I've started on the medicinal whisky early which helps!

I'm just physically drained this year and fed up of everything.
 
Knackered and fed up with it too. I need some sunshine, and a good gallop on the bridleway - and so does Shy. He's like a pent up rocket, trying to swerve into fields, so he's ready to go too. Not like him at all ;)
 
The mud was so bad around one gate when the snow thawed that i had slop over the top of my wellies. Iv never experienced anything like it. My horses were in 24:7 all last week and when i let them oyt on the summer paddock to stretch their legs their eyes nearly popped out of their heads... They were sooo happy. Therefore i've let them in there every day this week.

While theyve been in there i have been digging a drainage channel down one side of the trash paddock. Back breaking but water trickling away nicely now.

Today i went through some pics on my phone, and despite being unused since december there's actually less grass in one paddock than there was then. In dec it was short grass but green. Now its just mostly brown and watery.

Thankfully, it can't stay this cold forever. Bring on the day the jetstream changes and the sunshine comes out :)
