Hi,

I took my horse to a show last week and we came 2nd in a class which apparently qualified us for a regional final in Uk riders (to be held next year). So they sent me a letter saying I need to pay £25 to register within 14 days in order to be eligible.

I've not been a member before so basically wondered if anyone has experience of them and if it's worth joining! Just wanted to hear you guys experiences really :D There aren't many places that do qualifiers near me but if I do join I will try and get out a bit more and try to qualify for some other classes to make it more worthwhile.

I qualified for one of their comps a couple of years ago on a friends horse, sure it was cheaper than that thou, £25 eeek!
I did the regional final and came 2nd and then that qualified us for the finals at Arena Uk. Went there and it was very busy, jumping and dressage finals held together, but quite well organised came 8th. Had rosette posted to me but never got the promised stable plaque. Not bad all in all, if you want something to aim for and dont want the hassle (or cost) of affiliated competition.
Hope that helps

Thanks Dylan1311, that is helpfull, sounds like fun!

Just feel abit pressurised that I have to decide withing a week (as only just got sent the thing) and pay £25 when I didn't really know what it was! Nice to hear other people's experiences. I did do trailblazers afew years ago, we qualified for the finals but couldn't go (plus finals were very expensive!), is Uk riders a bit like trailblazers?

My daughter qualified and went to the finals last year at Arena UK and the year before at Vale View, it was quite well organised at both venues and they put on a BBQ on the Saturday night if you were staying over. They also had a clear round running for about £5 so you could have a practice before your class and they usually have a team competition, you just let them know in the office at the venue that you would like to take part and they put some teams together for a bit of fun. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, about £20 per class and £30 per night for stabling.
When you join they send you a brochure of UK Chaser courses where you can also stay with your horse as they also do XC competitions.

Hi,

I qualifield for the final in 2006 and 2010. It was £15 to join and the finals cost £18 per class. Not sure how much stabling was but it wasn't silly. I really enjoyed it in 2006 but less so this year. It was really disorganised and they hadn't ordered the prizes in time so instead of collecting them they were sent in the post 2 weeks later which isn't the same. This is a reflection on them rather than the venue which was supurb (Arena UK).

After all the negatives it is something good to aim for without being too expensive.

We went to the finals this year at Arena UK with our old boy. Had a brilliant day, we came 3rd and 14th in the prelim dressage. Won a £25 voucher, a bag of topspec feed and got a lovely rosette and plaque.

We hired a stable for the day for £15 and the classes were £20 each. Far cheaper than trailblazers which we don't bother with.

OH has already qualified for 2010, we are hoping to both compete at the finals this year.

Sounds good then, thanks guys! Think I will send off my £25 then to register. There is a showjumping comp with qualifiers we can do next month so hopefully we can try and qualify in some of those classes (as currently just qualified for one dressage).

Thanks :)
