thinking of pehaps going to one of their courses for a "play".

Has anyone used them before? Can you just ride on your own or do you need an instructor?

You dont need an instructor, I think they recommend you go in pairs. Which one are you going to go to? Ive been to a couple now and am generally impressd, we're off to one on sunday

They're great. I've got one 20 mins from me, and I use it for doing fitness work, or schooling babies over the cross country jumps, or just when I want to hack somewhere different.

You can use them on your own. I pay £15 per horse, for as long as you like.

The yard i keep my girl at has a chaser course and its good for schooling and having a nice ride through some gorgeous countryside.
I know when my yards hires it out they like you to have someone else with you, either on foot or on another horse.
They are great for a play!

They are good fun and generally good for fitness, as said as they are pretty open and your jumping I always advise you go with someone else (just in case)
