Ulcer medication

So I was given medication from vet for my horse starts with om I was told to give it to my boy on an empty stomach. I was going to give my boy his medicine this morning but just noticed that he has been eating the rest of his hay from last night. How long should I be waiting then?

Omeprazole? There seems to be so many different instructions. Mine got his in the morning, I didn’t take hay away but timed it that he probably hadn’t been eating and ready to go out. Vet said most important thing was to wait 30mins after giving it before feeding and then turnout.

Ya? Ok ya my boy is outside 247 so he is always walking around looking for whatever to eat

In that case I would just give it and stop him from eating for 30mins after.

And if he's eating just the left over of hay is ok? Cuz like it's not a lot and I can't really keep an eye on him all day as I'm working most of the time and my dad would be home some days so he would give them hay whenever he feels, but we are trying to save hay as sometimes the summertime isn't the greatest as we don't always get a lot of rain half the time.
