Yes, thanks Goldenstar, I think you were the only one who did! Sure that all the fast soak versions have been extra processed and debris removed. Will have to switch to that then. Thanks.
I tried it and there was some sand/silt in the bottom - but I could only tell by rolling it between my fingers because there was tiny bits of beet pulp too so I couldn't tell you how much for sure. The brand was supaflow mollassed beet pulp nuts (probably designed for cows) - I don't get a great choice in Mayo. I have to rinse the molasses off anyhow so hopefully any sand is rinsed away after it's been soaked. I have a 23 year old thoroughbred mare on it and a rising 2 year old connie x also. No problems so far.
