Has anyone actually found a way to treat ulcers without actually spending 1k on gastrogaurd?

Mine has been treated before over a year ago and cleared. However I suspect they have returned and I've already claimed for the meds in the past and who has 1k sat there to use for treatment these days 😭

Anyone found a way to treat without gastrogaurd please let me know 🙏

Not really. Hes a very anxious sensitive type so could be anything. Just looking for treatment options though as can't afford a grand each time they re appear and ive followed vets advice to the letter!

4 weeks treatment should be less than £500 if you get the script and buy it yourself. Vets may agree to do a prescription without scoping
Where from? Even still thats alot if it's re occurring. My vets make you pay for the script but are happy I know what I'm doing enough to do it without scope.
We do the 1/4 tube for outings in the trailer. The day before and the day of travel.

Looking to see if anyone actually used anything else alot cheaper?

I need something that's going to be good for prevention aswel.

My horse has recently been scoped and found to have very low grade ulcers (3/10), Vets have advised me to try Pectigus Advanced first which is a feed supplement, if no improvement in 2 weeks then we will have to do the injections which will be £1500 for 5 injections, given 5 days apart.

The Pectigus supplement is a approx 60 day supply at £140, only available though vets - https://hestevard.com/collections/digestive-support/products/pectigus-advanced

If this clears them then i think i will always keep some in stock for any stressful events to try and give as a buffer.

I would be trying to find the root cause of the ulcers though and give support in stressful events to minimise the risk of them returning again.

Please no one tell me to figure out the cause because believe me I've tried!!!
I moved mine from a livery to a private yard where she could live out all year round, which definitely helped, but ultimately discovered she has ECVM ( May-Davis protocol neck x rays - most vets I've come across have never heard of it, and it didn't show up on the bone scan either...)

Egusin! It was developed by a Danish Vet. There's one kind for treating the ulcers and another to give every day to prevent them. Worked a treat for my arab.
