Ulcers, Pectin Lecithin complex?

Precious little pony has previously been diagnosed and successfully treated for ulcers with omeprazole and sucralfate.

Slightly suspicious we may have very subtle signs of reoccurrence and keen to try and nip it in the bud.

All the usual bases covered feed wise. Ad-lib hay, alfalfa chaff before a ride, feeds of balancer, pink mash and linseed.

I’ve been looking into supplements especially those with a pectin lecithin complex and started thinking, both of those things are commercially available, in bulk, at human food grade for significantly less money than a branded supplement.
It should be really simple to just mix your own...
The only thing I’m stuck on is amounts, and want to make sure I get it right.

Any suggestions on dose? Or comments from anyone who’s had this idea already would be brilliant ?

Aloe vera juice is even cheaper and proven to be effective against ulcers. It's my goto for ulcery horses now.

I would like to hear about the correct amount of aloe vera juice to include in horse's diet. It makes sense to me, and I'd like to try it with my own horse.

25ml recommended on the stuff I buy, which is £35 for 5 litres on ebay.
I've had two ulcery horses on it, one in the past and one now, and both stopped snapping at the girth being done up when they are on it.

Ooh well I've just seen a friends horse get transformed after many years of trouble, by trying equibiome! It's ruddy expensive but I am saving up for it myself. Heard so much good stuff about it on FB...

The supplement I have used is equitop pronutrin .
I never seen any convincing data on aloe Vera .

There is clinical research for aloe vera vs omeprazole. It isn't as effective as omeprazole in horses at the dose that was used, but it is still effective. In rats at a different dose it was more effective than cimetidine or omeprazole.

Any of the stuff sold by the litre on eBay or amazon or in Holland and Barrett which is labelled as 100% pure aloe juice. My last lot was Battle, I think.

You should, of course, get a vet if symptoms persist.
