Ulcers?

Specifially hind gut ulcers (Assume that is what we are dealing with)? as well as the normal ones!

what would you use to treat and why?

im at a loss whether to stick with the trust omeprazole or try Egusin (which is meant to treat them??)

Opinions please.... i need to put her on something but dont want to throw away money on the wrong thing!

It's my understanding that omperazole does not treat hind gut ulcers.
Eugsin has had a trial that showed it did help hind gut ulcers .
You need advice from a vet who is a specialist in this field.

Thanks, they all sai the same thing - omeprazole when she was last in - to treat the front ulcers - but nothing was ever suggested about hind...

May drop an email to them and ask some advice

any views from here would be great too with success (hopefully!) stories?

Faced with the same decision, I would try Egusin. The reviews appear to have been positive.

Thanks - i had thought egusin - (we have done GG and pure omeprazole - same thing...) both worked as they shoudl on front ulcers but i suspect a little more going on in there too...

Dr Ridgeway suggests 6 weeks of ranitidine for hind gut ulcers, I'm pretty sure the dose is 6.6mg per kg. ranitidine treats both fore and hind gut ulcers, it's made a huge difference to my tb and I'm now going to give him a course of egusin as a belt and braces approach.

What about gastro plus? Think that does the hind gut .

Anyone know if you can feed GG and egusin together??

^^ not sure about the GG and Eugsin together?

in theory you wouldnt need too as Eugsin would treat both (according to research)... so you wouldnt need it
