Has anyone used the succeed fecal blood test to diagnose ulcers Is it accurate, is it worth the money or is scoping the only way to diagnose them?
Scoping is used to diagnose stomach ulcers, the succeed test is used to diagnose hind gut ulcers but the test is well known to be very inaccurate, even the succeed website states it.
I think I will have to get her scoped. The starvation is what's putting me off aswell as she's a very greedy cob that loves her foodI would only ever scope for ulcers, the scope itself is not very expensive (I paid £140 for the last one I did in January) it’s just the starvation that puts me off doing anymore. I didn’t think there was a reliable method of checking for hind gut ulcers as they can’t get far enough down the gut? Another way would be doing a sulfracate trial if displaying symptoms and seeing if it makes a difference?
Yes it's the only way to diagnose stomach ulcers. The scope doesn't reach as far as the hind gut so if you scope and the stomach is clear but the symptoms are still there, you can treat the hind gut.Ahh right so is scoping the only way to diagnose them or is there any other way?
