Hi all, my first post! At the risk of causing barefoot furore, would anyone have any suggestions as to what feed I could use as a carrier for a magnesium supplement and some nice herbs? The horse I am considering buying is in great condition on just grass,so I don't want to give him many extra calories. However he is quite sensitive to touch (everywhere, he isn't horrified but is 'aware' of the touch, if that makes sense). He is already barefoot, always has been and has fab feet.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, brand names would be useful. Low or no sugar preferred.

Thank you in advance!

Speedibeet is not low calorie - we use to put/keep weight on our retired cob. Straw chaff is the lowest calorie option of all those suggested.

Fast Fibre ingredients, from A&P website

Nutritionally Improved Straw, Oat Feed, Unmolassed Beet Pulp, Linseed Expeller, Grass Meal, Di-calcium Phosphate, Soya (bean) Oil, Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Mint, Fenugreek, Yeast, Fructo-oligosaccharides

Definitely not a no/low-calorie feed.
