How is the poorly puppy?

I know he was a very poorly boy, but would like to know how it turned out all the same.
 
Ooh, sorry, i thought i'd updated you guys!! God, im useless lol Sorry.

He is doing ok, he's having vets visits every few days to check everything is going ok. He is still eating well (and gaining weight!!) but it does look worse. They vet did warn us that it would get worse before it gets better, but his temperature has gone down so the meds are working.

O bless the little pupster!!:) His muzzle looks sore:(:(

So pleased he is on the mend :)- was going to ask the other day as have had my fingers crossed but he looked so poorly in the first piccies.:(

Anyway it shows what a healthy little boy he is and how well you are looking after him that he can fight it off!!:cool::D:D:D I love mum looking on in the vid!!;):D He is a lively little boy and hope he finds a good home soon.:)
 
We have to clean his eyes and muzzle 3 times a day with hibiscrub and it is SO sore, he hates it :( But it definately helping it heal as its not all crusty and itchy, he kept catching his dew claw on his muzzle when he tried to itch it and he would scream so it must have hurt so much!!

Its still going to be a long time til he is ready to go to a new home, but he will make someone a wonderful pet as he is such a loving pup!

Mum is very concerned about her baby and wants to keep washing his face, but she mustnt cos we are putting manuka honey on it and she just licks it off lol

As well as the manuka you could try adding aloe vera juice to his feed - it will help with the healing process and will also give his immune system a boost - a little chap like that would only need one of the small bottles and a capful a day would help heal and take away the itching for him.:)

Thank you, I will try that! Anything that might make him more comfortable is worth trying :)
 
Good idea using the manuka honey, I used it on Buffys tail after she had a lump removed and the wound just wouldn't heal, it made a huge difference.
Glad to hear he is improving, what did the vet say it was, looks scarily like distemper in the photos:(
 
Manuka honey is amazing stuff, i always keep a jar of it in the cupboards!!

It is actually just a bad skin infection that he has had a severe reaction to, they did give it a name but i cant remember what it was lol! I actually thought it looked like juvenile cellulitis (strangles) at first, but that has been ruled out by tests thankfully. Hopefully once the ABs get it under control it will just be a case of waiting for the sores to heal and the hair grow back.
 
Aw bless he looks so poorly and sore! I'm so pleased he is still here though, I was worried that no news may have been bad news in this instance. Fingers crossed he's on the mend now :) x
