I got a rather odd message from a friend on FB a little while ago asking why im selling Una cos they had someone interested :D Now, thats wonderful news right?? Its certainly news to me that she is for sale! Apparently they were browsing the horse classifieds on a few different websites in their lunch break and came across Una's advert, describing her exactly (even down to her age and breeding :eek: ) and with a couple of photos of mine, which was how the friend recognised her. She couldnt remember the website (she thought it might have been preloved but i've searched and cant find it :rolleyes: ) but she said it was definately my pictures as she double checked them on my FB album :D She hasnt got access to t'internet outside of her lunchbreak so she's gonna try and hunt it down in her history tomorrow!

But, if anyone spots it if they're browsing the various classifieds sites can you let me know? I might make them an offer :D

The info in the ad and those pictures are available on a couple of forums so its not necessarily someone I know. I'd guess its a scam or something, but if someones making money selling my horse I want my share!!! lol!
 
I hope someone finds the add so you can call and make them an offer.... if after seing the add you are absolutely sure e.g. they are using the picture of YOU, maybe try to get their name and address where they want to have the money sent, and report them for fraud :-(

I've had it happen a couple of times in the past, I think its from posting pictures on forums, its all so easily accessible! I reported the ads those times and got them taken down, dont know if any other action was taken though. The weird thing is, they are advertising MY horse apparently - how strange is that? Last time it was just my pictures that someone had stolen for an ad for another horse that wasnt the same age/height/breed as mine.

She has been annoying me recently breaking out of her field and stealing hay, but im pretty sure I never advertised her for sale :D lol Poor Una. It must be a scam though otherwise people would turn up expecting to try out Una, and she's obviously not there.... I cant get my head around it! Unless its a joke and im missing the point completely!
 
How wierd! Ive had a look on horsequest/horsemart/horsedeals and cant see an advert with those pics, although I am just searching for a "black mare" so she may be secreted somewhere and Im not looking properly! Bit worrying tho, I'd be having kittens!
 
Thanks for hunting, but no thats not her. I did a brief google and search on H&H and preloved for anything i could think of but couldnt find her... Very odd. Maybe they saw this thread and removed the ad lol.

OOh it is her!!

If it's not OP's number of the "seller" then it could be the free ads number that you ring to get the "sellers" number...for privacy reasons as they also ask for you to email them.

Freeads use their own numbers as that is how they make their money - premium rate call for the enquirer.

The advert location is next to Birmingham airport.

There is a scam report button on the page.

Also, Una's never done a cross country or showjump course in her life!! That jumping pic was the one and only time :D

How very odd! make them an offer but ask to see more pictures ;)

Some people have such a nerve.
 
I cant work out how to email them, am I being dumb?? Tried the number again but got a funny tone and it cut out... Weird scam if they dont want people contacting them?
