Una is For Sale

I might try that later, just to see lol.

you can message a seller on freeads.

I wouldnt worry about theft for order though, just someone malicious on a forum being a noodle.

God I'd be freaked if I saw this about mine.... You seem to be handling it remarkably well! Although as others said, it's more likely to be a scam to scam others out of money, naive people who will buy without seeing the horse etc..... But scarey anyway, definately report it to your local trading standards office and possibly police, so they can follow it up if they want to, just incase the details link up to any intel they may have for the same thing happening and god forbid linked to any thefts etc, then if they say to report the advert to freeads as scam/spam etc to have it deleted.

Happy horses the number shown is a freeads number, not a personal one, it is given to protect privacy and diverts to the number you have given on your profile.
I have ads on freeads and not only does it protect my number but also the person calling, which can be a bit of a bugger sometimes.

I've read about this before. Isn't it a version of the "Nigerian Scam"? Rather than send speculative emails to people who are advertising horses for sale, they make up a fictitious advert, then go through the palaver with money orders and asking the seller to give them "change". If you can find the ad you need to contact the police.

Hi,

I know of someone who bpught a freisian.

The ad has a picture of a ride/drive mother daughter share 15.3 freisian and was aparently in the UK.

However when she phoned the horse was actually in france. The seller said she advertised it as been in the UK as she didn't want to put people off!!!! She offered very reasonable shipping.

The person foolishly (but another story) Bought the horse unseen from the photo.

The horse she recieved was not the one on the advert it was black not full freisian younger than it was supposed to be only just backed etc etc

This story had a happy end as the buyer fell in love with the horse and worked through the problems. She did research and it turns out the seller sold quite alot of these "freisians" she saw the same photo on a diff advert. Wouldn't suprise me if something similar was going on here

Can anyone tell me how to email the seller on freeads? I must be really dumb as I cant find a link to contact them at all...

I hadnt thought of the stealing to order thing... When it happened last time it was just someone who wanted pretty pictures and so stole some they found on google (mine) so it wasnt anything malicious I dont think. This one is a bit odd but I will reserve judgement til i've had any kind of answer from the seller....

A similar thing happened to me. It was a horrible experience although it turned out fine in the end.

i've had a look at the advert and can't find anywhere where you can email the seller. the number is one that they 'generate' themselves to protect the sellers from spam calls once the item/animal is sold. i'd take a screen shot of the advert, contact the website and possibly even call the police, they can at least trace the email address used to set up the advert.

I remember reading a thread about something very similar (on New Rider I think) a couple of years ago. It was again involving a friesian. I think it turned out to be kids with an overactive imagination. It must be a bit worrying for you UnaB, I really hope you can get to the bottom of it. If you need anyone to make phonecalls etc send me a pm.

***Is anyone else suspiciious that the person who found her thisledonicely has only made that single post on the forum

Sorry but im suspicious now, why has a new poster only posted in this thread and found the OP's horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry in bold dont want my thoughts to be lost

I know I might be OTT, but I'm curious if someone made an offer and she was sold without seen, would they attempt to steal your horse?? Sorry I don't want to make you paranoid but if it was mine I'd be rather concerned just incase! Keep an extra eye on her ;) Strange strange people in this world!

Now, when you click on the link posted it says the advert has been removed???

Very suspicious - you don't think its a regular HHO playing a joke on you do you?

All very strange and unerving!

Ok, that is odd.. Interesting its after people on here mentioning contacting the police...

If it is someone on here please fess up, privately is fine :D I promise I wont be mad if it was just a joke or something, but i'd really rather know as i find it all a bit worrying.

All you need to do Una, is noone fesses up that is, is contact admin and see if they can identify thistledonicely, have a funny feeling that this will give you your culprit!

Seams highly suspicious that a new poster can identify an advert with pictures of your horse in so quickly?!?!

Would be in their best interest, have save alot of fuss and hassle, if they pm you direct, rather then getting admin involved.

Just been following this thread and yes the ad has now been removed. What a horrible worrying thing to happen to you. I have now decided to remove any information that could give someone a clue to where our horse is kept from pictures on facebook etc. Guess you just dont think about these things until something like this makes you wary. Hope you get to the bottom of it.
