Unable to catch my mare easily due to other horses

Every time I go to the stable to bring my horse in from the pasture, she's standing still, watching me. It LOOKS like she'll just let me slip the headcollar on but no. As soon as the other horses come over, she trots off. She hates other horses, you see. Have any of you got a way that you can tell me to keep the other horses away whilst I catch her??

Can you flick the end of a lead rope towards them? When I was on a much bigger yard with horses in big herds I needed to drive others off sometimes to get to mine. A twirling rope worked well. With assertive body language x

As amber said, if I need others away I drive them with a twirly lead rope.

if it’s simply the other horses driving her away, try read the situation so you can move them off before they’ve moved her.

Okay, thanks, you two. I've tried lots of things but there's a very eager 3yr old Cob in the pasture and she doesn't leave you alone fron when you open the gate to enter and then leave again. I'll try flicking the leadrope at them and hopefully ??? it will work! x
