I have plucked up the courage and entered my first dressage test - unaff - in a few weeks time. I noticed that on the schedule, in some of the prelims, it says not to have won more than 20 dressage points. Do you get points for unaff dressage or does this mean more experienced affil horses can compete against us real unaff beginners ?

Only horse at affiliated novice and above can earn dressage points. Good luck with the dressage test just go and enjoy it

No points awarded in BD unaffiliated comps. Yes affiliated horses can compete. Don't be put off, all sorts, shapes and sizes take part. Enjoy and if you feel a bit intimidated first time out, remember everyone had to start sometime.

Smile. Good luck.

Go for it, I know when I went to my very first show (dressage) I was terrified and thought I shouldn't be there, but despite my nerves we had a good time and everyone was really friendly. We just did a walk and trot test, but everyone has to start somewhere.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
