hello, can anyone reccomend an unaffiliated events in surrey, I have seen the Pachesham ones so far

Littleton Manor? Mid Surrey PC, Munstead hold some ODE, as do tweseldown.

there aren't many anymore, there used to be longreach events last year which was good but they closed down

Pachesham is ok, the school's good. Some Pony Clubs hold open ODEs, you could check the Pony Club website.

do you know how big the pc open events are? I need something quite little!

Chiddingfold Farmers PC are running a ODE with sections open to all round both the Pre-novice and Novice course at Stilemans on 22nd June if there are enough entries.

They vary in height, in the mid surrey field the smallest jumps are about 2ft, and I know they do ODEs there but am not sure if they're open to non-pc.

How little do you want? 2ft, 2ft3?

Hmm was thinking about the chiddingfold farmer's ODE, but I don't know stilemans very well. How would you rate the PN xc course difficulty-wise?

Thanks Mr Sunny! Where about are you based? I was thinking 2ft3 maybe 2ft6 but its our first go so want to keep it very straight forward!

I'm based in Epsom, well the horse is! I go past the mid surrey field quite often, and they have some simple small jumps there but it doesn't look like they have a ODE there til june..

Pachesham seem to hold ODEs fairly reugularly, and they have a small course but I find it a bit boring personally.

Warlingham & District Horse Club run them at Warren Barn Farm in Woldingham, Surrey... lovely little course with water and all the usual.

They did a 2-day which was really good fun, but it was cancelled last year as they didn't have enough entries.

Stilemans is quite straight forward but definately up-to-size PN and novice. Nothing trappy and they are very solidly built, hope that helps. The going is fab and Chid Farmers like "big is beautiful" tracks (my old pony club)
