I'm 15 and panning to do some local shows with a Shetland in-hand. I've only ever ridden at shows and never shown in-hand. I know that I will have to wear my riding hat but im unsure of what else I should wear
Should I wear my beige jodhpurs and jodhpur boots with clips as I'm under 16?
and also should i be wearing a shirt and tie or stock with my showing jacket
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you :)

Wear a shirt and tie. I'm not a fan of jods being worn for In-hand so if possible wear a pair of smart trousers. Jody boots are a defo, and so are gloves. I suppose you would have to wear your hat - I didn't as of the age of 14 and still won normal in-hand and Young Handler classes left right and centre.

I watched an inhand class at the weekend at a local RC, 1st class was the under 16yrs - most were wearing full riding attire, but I did spot one little girl wearing a little waist jacket ( gold / brown ) rather than a show jacket as it was quite warm, she also had matching ribbons in her hair...........she looked very smart!!

Good luck, I am taking my 3yrs old showing on the 15th for the 1st time - so should be an experience ( although I am far too old for the under 16 handlers class!!! )

As already said were smart trousers for in hand, pale colour if horses legs are dark and a dark colour if legs are light in colour. Most schedules now specify under 16 handlers to wear riding hat so stick with that and your show jacket or a waistcoat. Gloves are a must, neat hair in a net, shine your shoes and have fun
