Yes, going in the school holidays is NEVER a good idea, but was desperate to get Madam out for a play. Warmed up and did the clear round, lovely. Then there were 23 in the first class, but the warmup was horrendous, they must all have been in at once

.

Came to the upright and shouted 'jumping the fence' and this stupid girl came sideways overtaking another horse right in front of me on landing, then her horse did a massive buck and nearly got me in the face - was really cross - her mother did apologise as I went in the ring, but these kids need be more aware of what is going on around them, she was'nt on a pony either it must have been 15hh

Just had to have a rant !

Sorry but don't think it's unaffiliated SJ'ers fault - I have had that happen to me BSJA. I announced I was jumping a fence and as I took off someone decided to circle in front of the fence so I had to land and do an emergency stop (not easy on a big striding, jumping 16.3hh horse

)

Have only been a few times BSJA but I haven't noticed any difference in the attitude of people in the warm up to unaffiliated (especially as most places near me run both)

BE SJing warmups must be nice as you probably get much more room and less people at one time

It's not just kids - adults are as bad, if not worse. Took the sprog clear round jumping on Monday, and the warm-up for the first class was OK, being mostly younger children. But the next class had lots of teenagers and adults in it, and quite frankly it was dangerous with people riding with no regard for anyone but themselves.

I agree that all SJ warmups are chaos, whether affilliated or not. Maybe I do too much dressage, but it seems none of them had any concept of left to left, more of an every man for himself attitude!
