Took a few pics of myi-boy tonight... he's not in work at the moment, and can be a little fresh to handle... anyway, I took my daughter (11) and son (5) with me to the yard, as usual, and I lost my daughter! I looked all around the yard - very out of charester.. and then i found her.... she'd gone to fetch my boy out of the field, walked him back over a couple of fields (he can be a bit of a monkey) and he was ambling along with her like a small dog. Heart in mouth moment, but very sweet. Then told her if she ever does that trick again.....!!! anyway, a couple of pics!

He's a bit of an oddity looks wise, but I love him!

He's very handsome. I think horses sense people and their moods, the vibes he got off her were "no big deal, we are walking to the yard tum tee tum" whereas with you he may well pick up on the "he's a bit fresh to handle when not ridden" vibe, and play up!!

Its the same when ridden, my old lad would plod along, not batting an eyelid with a novice on him, as soon as someone who could ride reasonably well got on, he used to push his luck!! :)

Yes, pretty much agree! He's pretty ok with my OH, but when he doesn't like something.... hell would freeze over before he'll do it! He's not ridden at the moment, hoping he can get out for 10min soon, but will see! He's a funny chap, but when I look back to when I got him, and the circumstances, Im just thankful he's still with me! Most of the time. :-)

Hi proud mummy you have your moment :D
I think he is a very hansome boy,he looks really cheeky and cute,:) and i love his colouring.
Funny how hes good with daughter, our old pony was the same.
Set her on for groom duties !!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Aww he,s gorgeous. I love his dapples (: he is stunning. What's his name? (:

They are a little odd, they change every year, this year not showing as much as last year, but then again his colour has had to change 3 times on his ID!

His name is Pedito, which means little fart, but he's officially Hiraeth. Peds for short.. or gayboy, as due to the op everyone thinks he's had a sex change :-( but he's cool with pink stuff so it's all ok! He had a **** start to life, he's a temper on him like a virago, has real moods, but heart of a lion. Unless you happen to be a hedge in a breeze, then you are officially scary!

He's lovely, and he has got a lovely kind look about him. I love these chunky monkeys.
Can I offer a tip about rope halters? To be taken with salt if you wish.

I would shorten the spare rope on his halter. If the tail is too long it has the potential to damage eyes. You can also help avoid that by tying the knot so that the tail finishes off pointing towards his neck, rather than his nose. If I'm using a halter that's a bit big I tuck the spare rope away in the bit that goes under the throat.

Chunky monkey, lol like it :-) Not able to shorten it, but as it did it's job, it's gathering dust now If it ever needs to come out as a reminder that I really do MEAN stop, the end is tucked in :-) but thank you! :-)

He is fab, just my kind of horse. Quick question though, how in the name of god, do you get the pics up. I'm so useless with technology, I have pics on the laptop, and posted about a long neck, what to do with the mane last night, and if i kissed it's a$$, i couldnt figure out how to do it.
Not taking from your post, If that had been my daughter, I'd probably have hugged her, then shook her. It's not funny when you are the "protective" mother, and i mean that as instinctive rather than anything else. I'm the worst. What age is the horse??

He's rising 12, roughly in Sept - making him same age as daughter :-)

Photo's - I stuck them on photobucket, then copied and pasted the bottom link option it gives you... if that makes sense? I actually didnt realise it would stick them on here, so apols folks!

Aww that's a really cool name. His dapples are really pretty, I like them. I prefer bays with dapples cos it makes them more interesting haha. How big is he, he looks big, ish haha. Atleast now he has a nice home with you and he knows you won't hurt him :)

He's been with me since approx 6 months old, he'll never be 'right', too many mental scars but he won't leave me until the inevitable! He's quite a big chap, just over 16hh, but that, as with everything else with him can change! He's a monster, a nightmare to deal with on occassion, has to be asked, never told, apart from that, he's a delight! But he's mine, and I know his little ways ;-)

He is such a cool dude, pity some people feck them up on us. Up until very recently, I always had the mentally scarred ones, but decided after I had to have my best boy PTS, i was going to get youngsters from weanlings and bring them on, so no serious issues. My body doesnt do hitting the ground at speed to well any more. (my best boy had issuses, and was the only one i didnt fall from!!)
Thanks for the photo info, must go figure out photobucket and work from there. Best of luck with your fab boy!!!
