I just hope they find who ever did this, just to give the poor owner some sort of justice/peace of mind to prevent it happening again, absolutely shocking.

Hang on, it's the Express we're looking at, which is up there with the Mail for accuracy of reporting.
At no point does it say that anyone was seen, and it says the paddock was broken into but also that the fencing was undamaged.
All we know is a foal was found drowned in a river, having somehow got out of its field. Terribly sad, but how can anyone conclude it was "mindless yobs" from this report?
