I've made the decision to take my boy barefoot.

He has very under run heels; can anyone give me an idiots guide on how you trim to correct/improve this????

Thanks

Good trimmer was the only thing that worked for mine there was a big difference between no improvement with the first and excellent improvement with the second trimmer so if you are not getting results change. Take progress photos really surprising how much of a difference you can make - think I have my last Tbs photos on my profile.

You get the horse moving within the bounds of comfort .
You make any changes in the diet that are needed.
You get a good trimmer to advise and teach you as you make the change to BF.
Then you wait and watch the horse grow new feet my TB took nine months to get working rather than just exercising for the feet .
I would get the trimmer to advise you on the best boots for your horse as they will be a big help at first .

My horse did it himself although I don't know how badly under run they were. Latest pics are on my most recent thread

My boy is doing it in conjunction with trimming and a diet and management change, alongside exercise in front boots so he can develop the necessary structures to be able to land heel first and stop loading his toe :) No trim in the world can fix it on its own
