My grandson (age 13) is complaining that he gets sore “male bits” when he’s riding. Not just jumping but flat work as well, I don’t want him to stop riding but obviously is he is in pain then there is a distinct possibility that he might stop riding. Can anyone suggest what he can wear under his breeches?

My husband just rides in boxers (the fitted ones). He says breeches are the thing that make the biggest difference - breeches and a comfy saddle (or seat saver).

I find the saddle makes a big difference, I wear tightish underpants to keep things in place, and women's jods, they come in more options, and they tend to have less dangly room in the front as well, which helps.
I can remember years back when I could ride all day with no problem, but, we went on a family holiday to Wales, me and daughter decided to go to a riding place and have an hours hack, jeeeeez, the saddle crippled me, so don't underestimate the difference a saddle can make.

Look at Saxx my husbands loves them alot of athletes wear them as they have extra support in the needed area, not the cheapest pants but totally worth it to be comfortable.

They have a website to buy direct but they also sell them on Amazon I've bought them on there before.

Echo the above comments but are you also able to encourage him to make sure he’s riding so he imagines he is sitting on his back pockets and pushing his pelvis forward. I have had this with a couple of male students and it helped a lot just adjusting their seat a little
