I was at a show recently and next to my box was another box that contained 2 youngster welshies. They were yearlings judging from their gangly look and were very well behaved (in comparison to other older ponies!). The lady who owned them was trying to put some cream on their face and when the yearling colt pulled back she hit him in the face with the tub and shouted "for ******* sake stand still you t***!" I was totally appalled by her treatment of the yearling. She lost the class and I felt ashamedly glad about it but then I felt sorry for the yearling wondering what repercussions he would suffer. Why behave like this to not just a youngster but any horse, and why do it at a show where everyone can see you?? Am I being unreasonable?
