Undiagnosed lameness back again

I've got more important things in life to worry about right now with some very real health concerns with both partner and Mum who I've literally just come back from the care home after I've received some devastating news about her and I'm beyond caring about this forum. They take precedence over everything and anything even Lari.

I'm going to leave this here where it belongs. Dead and buried.

If you have stuff that take precedence over a living animal that is in pain and requires care then maybe its time to call it, and no matter what is going on in your life the animals you care for should be joint first.

We all have been there with devastating news about family, does not mean that does not mean our animals get put on the back burner.

I still find it strange that the vet's so adamant it's not the cause. It seems pretty well known that some horses can be sound with what look like big changes and others lame with what look like tiny ones. But, as I said first of all, I'm no expert on x rays.

I hope it's an abscess and easy to treat, but if so then I also think that several people's advice to test for Cushings should be acted upon.

And if a horse tested negative for Cushing's two years ago, there's clearly no point testing again now, because it's not like it's something that develops over time, is it. Same with arthritis...

It doesn't, but a 2min google search gets you far, far, far more info which has been pointed out before, but was taken as me threatening to get them sacked for some crazy reason so I doubt this will end well, but I could tell you Birkers home address, yard and employer right now just from information she has posted on here and information that is freely available on google.

I'm not going and it doesn't interest me, but for the benefit of others, if you want to keep your location a secret you need to keep pertinent information to yourself. Its far too easy for people to put things together, and some people have nefarious reasons and far better googling skills than I do. I just do it to help people trace horses sometimes. But there are absolutely people who do more. It wasn't very long ago that someone had an insurance claim denied from things they had posted here.

It feels like we are all anonymous, but given I've had personal, private photos lifted and then shared here, it just goes to show if you want to be truly anonymous you need to be careful. I'm not bothered, its not something that concerns me, but I know lots of people are much more private than I am. Although for almost everyone I wouldn't even know where to start working out who you are in real life because you don't constantly post detailed information about locations/yards/houses etc, so you've got nothing to worry about

No, and of course a vet on the forum can't professionally criticise the work of another, but as a layman you'd perhaps have to ask why those x rays have been taken on an oblique angle if they were looking for issues in the joint. The x rays I showed of my 2 above and all the ones I can find online were taken to clearly show whether the channel between the bones was "clean".

I'd be surprised if that was the only angle taken. Admittedly, the last hoof x-raying I had anything to do with, was a pre-export exam on an expensive racehorse. But once you've sedated them and dragged the equipment out, why wouldn't you take a few different angles?

Most clients are paying by the number of "plates". A very limited number were taken of each of the last 3 sets of joints I had xrayed.

I would expect to have more than one, or it seems a bit pointless. Unless you are looking at/for something specific. There is probably an optimum angle to check out as much as you can from one shot, with a view to looking more closely at what you might find. Much easier to do with digital x-rays.

As an aside, isn't modern medical imaging fantastic?

He looks so much better last night and today and staff said walked out of his stable fine this morning no lameness or soreness evident and cantered off when turned out.


Tonight I took the poultice off and walked him up and down the yard and he looked fab so hoping it's nothing but a stone bruise or catching up with getting used to the difference between quagmire footing at retirement and a sudden flat hard paddock and stone track here.

I was sent 13 photos, one of the foot which I've shown, three others of the underside and rear which I showed and 9 of the fetlock which I didn't show on here as there was no point as he blocked positive for the foot. I did show the photo of the fetlock bone chip as i thought it would be fascinating to see. The vet charged be nothing for the fetlock photos, she said she'd do them for free and she did.

YOU freely posted the pic of your work computer monitors showing company information. Then highly identifying photos showing the office location and chat about work contracts.

You dont, becuase I dont work and I don't have an address But yes, I have absolutely posted enough information for people to piece some of that together and I was doxxed all over the internet when Leo was stolen so my days of anonymity are long gone. I'd do it again in a heartbeat to get my pony back if he went AWOL again.

But just so you know, the doxxing and the facebook account you think you have so cleverly gained access to is 4yrs out of date hence why I've just left you too it. You do know that I know who the proxy is don't you?

Nobody has tried to cause issues by revealing your location as far as I've seen. You've posted more than enough information over the years for people to have triangulated to roughly where you live as AA did. She was trying to help you sort Lari out, not to harm.

Your repeated accusations that I'm Dun threatened to get in touch with your employers, which you've been repeating now for years, is also incorrect. She tried to warn you that you were giving away information about where you worked and because of the fraught relationship the two of you had at the time, you interpreted that as a threat, which it was not.

Your own hypocrisy is just astounding. When Lari was in rehab you criticised a pro rider for not communicating with you while also saying she was based at your yard and posting a photo where she was clearly identifiable because of her tiny stature. I pointed that out to you so that you could remove it, and was rewarded by you saying that you would blame me if you lost your place in your yard because of what I (!!!) had written.

Me me me me me. Give it a rest. I used to have some sympathy for you, as I'm sure a lot of posters did but you just can't seem to help yourself, can you? Such a persecution complex. People are not deliberately going out of their way to pick on a random internet poster over the course of several years. Going on the things you post, I really think you would benefit from some talking therapy. You can usually self-refer for this, so checkout your local NHS trust for info.

I'm probably going to become the latest member of the Bully Birker2020 Club, but put me on UI, I don't care. I don't care what randoms on the internet that I don't know think about me. And neither should anyone else - they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. If online stuff bothers you, then stay offline. It's simple. If you feel you are being constantly bullied, then have a look at yourself, because you really aren't interesting enough for people to seek out and pick on. Therefore, you must be saying or doing something that is bringing negative attention to yourself. To keep doing it, over such a long period of time, leads people to believe, rightly or wrongly, that you are just attention seeking.

Still, I doubt you are going to change anytime soon. Do what you always do, and the results will remain the same. Take a step back, get your head straight and see how much more pleasant life is without the drama.
