I have a pony mare due to foal anytime. I don't know an exact due date as i bought her in foal and the previous owner did not know when she was covered. I had my vet examine her 7 weeks ago and she said about 6 weeks or so to go. Her udder has recently been larger on one side than the other but two days ago the larger side filled and is quite hard and full now but the other side is still very much smaller and softer although it is larger than it was. Is this anything to worry about?

Not too familiar with mares foaling but plenty of experience of dairy cows/ heifers. It isn't unusual to have a 3 quartered cow (instead of the usual 4) and have even had a couple of 2 quartered ones. However the fact that you have said that the one quarter has filled again and is hard could indicate mastitis (in cows anyways) and probably worth getting a vet to have a look - easy to clear up with antibiotics in most cases.

a mare in foal at ours had one come up really big, for about 2 weeks and the other totally empty and ti literally evened out overnight so wouldnt worry
