Unforecast snow!!

I was expecting sun today as per iphone forecast! Cycled up to yard at 6am no snow just slight ground frost then at 7am on my way back it really started coming down and settling. Was lovely putting my yearling out though in her first snowy field! I'm in Essex btw

roads are white round here eldest has the day off as everyone is saying the ungritted roads are really bad, youngest is waiting at the bus stop for school bus (mean mum)as the route will be gritted. lots of walking today i feel

Just a sprinkling on Surrey Sussex border but as debs said apparently thick on the north downs 10 mins up the road! Boss just called to see if I made it in then she remembered its my day off phew!!

Colchester got snow too :) got up at 6am and it was raining.... by 6.30 it was snowing thick and fast let our puppy out to see snow for the first time haha.
She didn't know what to do bless just trying to eat it ha ha.

Drove in OK but luckily enough I only work 5mins from home and can walk should I really need to anyway.

No snow when I went to my early spinning class (shining my halo as I type). Snow started coming down during said class. I was the only one who was not pleased. Another Surrey person and in Dorking this time... and that means my yard will be much harder hit as on top of Ranmore. Tried to coax dogs out for a quick walk on my return and they were not at all interested!

Snooooow. :)

Started snowing 6.30am in Suffolk, caused real problems driving home to Essex at 7am from night shift, now home it's stopped and melting. What got me was the van which slid off the road into the ditch opposite the salt storage yard where the gritters are based. They were just starting to fill them, talk about bolting the door after the horse has bolted! To be fair though it wasn't forecast down here!

Luci07, What's it like around there, now? I left the field at 07:30 and all was well (not a flake!), but have seen pics on Facebook of snow around Dorking. I didn't leave them any hay and they're in an unsheltered field on Leith Hill! Am wondering whether to curtail experiments and get back up there to move them to their sheltered grazing! Sodding weather!

Nearly an inch of snow where I am near Brentwood, Essex and snowing hard when I left for work. No roads gritted at all and cars sliding all over the place (luckily I walk to the station). Funny arriving in london in my walking boots and not a flake to be seen!

Don't know why people wish for snow, its horrible and dangerous, driving to the yard is a nightmare and then you can't ride when you get there - arrghhh! Mind you it does look pretty if you can stay in all day :D

none here (south wales)

would love some of the nice fluffy stuff - although i have no excuse for not getting to work after treating myself to a 4x4 *sob sob*

I love snow!! Wish more had come down! Can still ride, I'm gonna put Vaseline in his feet and I get to lord it past people who are stuck in my 4x4 :) Almost makes the extra car tax worth it. And it looks so pretty and the dogs love it.

It's been a nightmare morning! I left for the yard at 6.30. It was still snowing. An hour later and I hadn't got far at all and was in standstill traffic. Rung my friend who said she was on way up to yard (she lives very close) she offered to do Ruby today (thank god) I turned around when I could and sat in for another hour! I gave up and abondand my car and walked the half hour into work (in my riding gear ;)) got here to find out the round a bout near me was closed and the M11 shut due to an overturned lorry which created all the ques. No matter which road I went on it was gridlocked!

One of our work collegues came that same way into work only took him 3hours he was busting for a wee by the time he got in poor sod :D

It was a nightmare! Everyone was taking 2-3 hours to get in. I wouldn't mind but it only takes 4 minutes to drive to work on a good day!
