unhappy mare!?

hi so my little mare has turned rather grumpy over the past three weeks. i thought originally she was just having a hard transitional season but this is going on now and she doesnt appear to be in season. It started off with her refusing to leave the yard to hack out so i walked her out in hand then got on her and now she has started refusing to lunge which she knows very well how to lunge and has started pinning her ears back bitting at the sides and snapping towards me or refusing to go on!

Im going to get her an appointment for her back checked as soon as the vets are open on monday but thought id ask on here if anyone had any thoughts what to do in the mean time or any experiences. She has been very sweet until now so im thinking it must be pain rather than behavioural : /

Could be gastric ulcers? Mine did similar a month or so ago and I thought season related initially. I have gradually changed her feed over to fast fibre and cut out starch/ sugar and hey presto, I've got my loving girlie back. Good luck!

thats a thought she was on alpha a but then i added top spec conditioning flakes to get more condition, i got her walk trot and cantering lunging on both reins tonight by double lunging but then when i mounted her i couldnt get her to trot . she doesnt show signs of back pain when being tacked up. i will try cutting out the flakes thanks for the advice.
