uninsured.... WWYD??

So basically, get him insured asap and ring the vet monday. It could be a number of things, not something folk on a forum could tell you.

Oh yeah, commit fraud, that's really clever. Also bumps up the insurance premiums for those of us who do insure.

OP I think you're panicking. It may be something major. It may quite easily be something minor. Have a really good check and feel over your horse, trot up if you have someone experienced to watch. If lameness continues, call the vet but as others have said make it clear up front what you are willing to pay :)

If you insure today and ask for payment on Monday you will be laffed out of court.

You beat me to it! Do you not have to have been insured for 14 days before making a claim? I wouldn't want to risk either committing fraud, or leaving it for 14 days. Get the vet on Monday , bite the bullet and cover the bill yourself if your mum won't. Hope it turns out to be nothing major :)

This horse has been showing a problem for a few days/ couple of weeks?

Not wanting to spend money?

Put in field until spring, put aside all your competing/lessons and stabling costs and if he is still croc in the spring, use the saved money to pay for the vet to check him out.

OP - have just read this from start to finish...I can totally understand overeacting...been there many times myself!...but there is NO excuse for being rude to people who have tried to offer advice.

As Wagtail already said...you have the vet coming, then check saddle and physio. If mum wont pay then perhaps pay the bill yourself...we have all been there...having to work part time over and above or sell everything on ebay!

good luck..hope it works out

Agree - It's just cost me £700 for a lameness work up and steroid injections and intense physio, but worth it to have my horse coming back into work now. Sometimes there is no other way than to bite the bullet and spend the money, unless you have a dianoses you can't really go forwards. Good luck.

Personally id phone the vet monday and get them out and have a full lameness workup.

Id also worry about the bill later - but tell them your not insured (vets love asking "are you insured.??"......... )

You cant effectively treat what you dont know, its just guess work
The only person who can diagnose and treat is your vet.
You say money isnt a problem so vet would be first port of call.
Get a lameness work up if required, then youll have a much better idea of what you should be doing
