I am fed up of the small TB horror tanking off with me on a hack - he normally wears a loose ring lozenge snaffle, yes I can stop him quite easily by wrestling him to a slower pace but I really want to stop his habit of sticking his head down, leaning heavily on the bit and tanking off every time we go into canter. Clearly it worked with the little kids when he was a racing pony as they weren't strong enough to stop him!
I have a universal bit for him so am going to try that - I know purists will always say use with 2 reins so you can employ the curb effect separately, but does anyone use one with roundings and if so does it work? I have never used 2 reins so would find roundings so much easier
