I have posted this in All about dogs aswell. There is a nasty illness which has already killed in the thetford forest area , only takes 24 to kill , please pass this on if you live in the area, nearly went there myself to walk the dogs today, thankfully i got a phone call this morning to ask if i knew anymore about it. if anyone has anymore details please let me know, i am a dog trainer at my local club and can pass info on to our members , thanks

The Animal Health Trust are running a questionnaire for people that have dog walked in the affected areas - Sherwood Forest, Thetford Forest and Sandringham - to try and work out what the cause is. It's on their website.

Wasn't there something in the H/H this week about horses in Cornwall and they thought it maybe fungie, seems we have a lot about this year and mostly the nasty varity.

Its happening in a few woods near me in notts, Sherwood forest, blidworth woods. Its being blamed on a fungi and people are advised to not let dogs off leads. I remember when it first started to happen it was blamed on someone poisoning them x

Wow, worrying since my parents live in thetford and walk their lab in forest daily. Any more info?

I got this message come through on my face book page

A note for all of you guys who have dogs, there is a mystery illness going round dogs that is deadly, most dogs who have the illness have either been walking in woods or in country parks. It may be blue algae, dont let you dogs, swim, drink or paddle in stagnant water and wash them off if they get their paws wet from puddles or dirty water, dont let them lick their paws. Dont want any of our doggies being poorly.

Sounds like its related to this post, very worrying :-/

Rang my parents to warn them. They have got Bracken booked into the vets this afternoon as she is showing symptoms. Fingers crossed for her.
