Hi,
I've never been one to believe in 'calmers' and have never seen any improvements of others on yards that have used them either. So I just wondered whether anyone has used magnitude before? and were there any differences?

My boy has been very unpredictable, excitable and extremely nervous for the past couple of months. I first put it down to him losing has best mate and a lack of work/routine. He has now been in a good routine and regular work for the past 1 & 1/2 months and we seem to be having more and more 'scary days' some days I can't even get him to come in from the field, I can catch him easy but then he just refuses to move- it took me 40 minutes to walk him 40 meters last week, NO EXAGGERATION!! And he just generally seems petrified of everything. He lives out 24/7 and has plenty of food (although no hard feed). when riding some days he is good as gold, then other days (like today) i'm lucky if I can get any sense out of him at all, he just spooks at everything and anything. He had the physio last month who found nothing unusual.

My sister has given me a tub of magnitude that she had for her horse that she no longer needs and was wondering whether I should give it a try? It says on the side "a lack of magnesium may show in a horse as tension or nervousness" which is what he is like at the moment. Should I give it a try??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi ,

I use this for my 3 year old Bailey, it has seemed to really help him and just takes the nervous edge off him- he is a lot easier to deal with day to day and less spooky
It also helped him settle in his stable better.
I think it's really good value for money as well as it lasts up to six months and is under £20!
Was sceptical at first but it works :)

Its this time of year and in the spring when you will really notice a deficientcy if there is one.

Give it a go, it wont hurt and tbh, what have you got to loose?
