I'll make this as short as possible.
Got a chiro out and found horse had a locked pelvis and was very stiff and sore because of this. (Explaining why he was being naughty) and after 2 sessions of treatment hes pelvis and surounding muscle was so much better yet horse is still unsound on hard surface and circle but not as noticable on the softer surface (rubber school) so chiro suggested we needed a vet to come look.
Vet came out and watched him trot up and said he's lame on the right front and did some pinching on the hoof and he was very sentitve and say it was due to a hoof infection that had obviously come back (had it in febuary) poultice and 3 days later she was back out. There has been nothing come out of the hoof, so vet and farrier had a word and put shoe back on as they both doubt there is any puss in there! and gave some danloin for 10days for pain and immformation(sp). He is allowed out in the field if he came sound on one bute(per day). but i have noticed when hes cantering away from me in field
he WILL NOT canter on the left rein.. always changes after 2 strides which i found odd, as he seems not to want to canter on that left rein for very long
but would rather lead with the right (which had the supected infection). Also have noticed hes very grumpy? i understand this could be due to spending time on boxrest and not getting out and doing much (riding wise) but its very unlike him to be so grumpy
I Will see if he trots up lame when he stops hes bute and then go from there but just wondered if anyone had any clue what we could be dealing with?
PLEASE do NOT crit me. i have had chiro, vets and farriers out to get to the bottem of hes problems and i just wanted some advice from anyone thats been in a similar situation
Thanks
