After having another go at loading my SH mare on the trailer and really just for the fun of it, my friend and I thought we would do some groundwork with our horses in the arena, rather than tack up and ride.
We could not believe it!
My mare wizzed through the whole of stage 1, I think, in an afternoon!
She eventally walked over a huge tarpoling sheet, in the wind and halterless! She played frizby and that was also onto the tarpoling! She did the trotting on the long rope around me whilst standing still! She backed up(not so good), pushed the big ball around(looking for treats to fall out), then just to show off totally to the trained parelli horse, she stuck her head through the hoop and touched the frizby that I held in my teeth!
I did consider flames at this point
She loves to jump free with me too and will pop little rears and bucks of excitment as she canters off around the arena for another go, although I'm always left exhausted
How amazing are smart horses?!!
p.s. No carrot sticks were used in this production
