I was travelling the beast today just for a small jaunt and watching him on the camera he displayed some very concerning behaviour;
* he henched his back (spine was visible)
* Stretched out with his head low
*strained
he did this twice within about a minuite and each "episode" only lasted about 10 seconds
I went back to check on him (mum driving)
the membrane in his lips were as normal (colour wise) and he did not sweat, had a normal temp, and showed no signs of wanting to go down or straining, almost straight after he coninued to eat his haynet and travel happily as before. He had passed 2 poos just before it happened. When we got home about 5 mins later I checked his gut sounds and all sounded normal
He has pooed as normal in the field and has also in his stable, he has a normal appetite etc and has not shown ANYsigns of being colicky.
I have spoken to several people on the yard incl a VERY experienced yard manager and he thought it could just be excitement.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could have happened as it was quite distressing to see but he travelled before and after the incident like an angel munching his haynet and he has been content all afternoon (I have been on the yard from 2.30 to just gone 6.30)
