she is out of my buckskin mare (arab x con x welsh) by a bay tobiano sports horse stallion!

she changes colour throughout the year, lighter in winter, darker in some areas in the summer.

i registered her as skewbald, but now know better and wish i had registered her as buckskin tobiano!

yours is beautiful... and if i didnt know better would say they were full sisters! :p

ETS: she isnt tri coloured, as she doesnt have a difinitive patch of bay/black above the hock, only buckskin. (from the pics that i have seen) ;)

w&w your filly doesn't have the white 'ticking'/roaning that appears to be on the OPs though :) (although just as nice ;) :) )

not in that pic, but in her winter wollies she does. her coat (face especially) changes all the time!

i cant find all my pics just now, because my old laptop died, and i need to get my hard drive back, but i nearly fell over when i saw the op's pics- i thought it was willow at first glance!

Thank you for all the lovely comments :) I so admit she is one of those horses you just can't stop looking at, or I can't anyway!! Lol

Whisp&willow our girls almost have the same breeding. Bunty is an Arabxwelshxconnie... she just doesn't have the sprinkling of sports horse! :)

Rhino - thank you, I got a bit of mane and tail and have posted it off to be assessed. I will let you know the details when I find out :)

She is beautiful OP. I love coloured horses. For those of you who are experts in identifying colours I'll post a pic of my gelding on a different post. His passport just says brown, he's been called a dun before which he is deffinatly not.

I'm being pedantic here, but if the sire has been gene tested as bay toibiano, you are right, but if not, it is possible that he is red dun tobiano. Doubtful, but possible.

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between Red Dun (chestnut with dun gene) and bay (black with agouti gene) - even with tobiano in the mix too.

I also want to say (because I'm a grumpy pants :D ) that I don't like the terms lemon and white (palomino plus tobiano/frame/splash etc...) or tri coloured (bay/buckskin/some duns/bay roan/blue roan plus tobiano/frame/splash etc...) it makes then sound like dog colours. :p ;)
