But it’s just saying no one should breed, again.
No one should irresponsibly breed would be a better message. But not so impactful.
And she’s a bull breed, as were the other 25, although she looked less xlb than the others. She didn’t deserve what happened to her, nor did Red, but if you stop breeding you only end up with random dogs and none fit for purpose.
But it’s all been said as infinitum.

I don't understand how so many dogs end up unwanted but I think most people on this forum would put our pets before almost anything else.
So perhaps we aren't the right people to come up with the answer!

When I see dogs come up on pets4homes, it is usually changed job and no time to look after dog, had a child and no time to look after dog, dog not getting on with other resident dog.

The rescue thing is a whole other matter and why they don't/ can't re-home in a more efficient way.

I want a boy long dog; I recently spent hours with a local rescue researching, applying, emailing and speaking on the phone.
The boy I wanted was re-homed but did I want a collie bitch? 🙄
Um no, that won't fit my home requirements or other 2 resident dogs.
People buy dogs because they look nice, and I think thats about it, and perhaps they have seen some cute videos on the internet.
I was looking to buy a puppy and it took about six months to find what I wanted. We were down dog sizing but didn't want a terrier, and I had a budget, so I looked at a lot of other peoples dogs.
Fluffy dogs are extreemely popular, but they need regular grooming, we had three matted dogs dumped on our road, do people factor in grooming costs, when choosing and then when it's a working dog cross, the fact it's traits tend to make it more active and not suited to being in the ever smaller standard home?

I thought it was about irresponsible breeders and people dumping their unwanted dogs (posted on an unwanted dogs thread). Oh well, wrong again.

Well the previous owners (who were ‘devastated’ at the state she ended up in, were they not the breeders? I assume not) didn’t really care what happened to her did they.
I did watch it and she banged on about it being all breeders fault, I suppose different people get different messages

Like so many rescues she is blaming all breeders , and calling for breeding to stop isn’t going to help . You’ve only got to look what happened during Covid , many responsible breeders stopped , and the byb happily filled the gap with poorly bred and reared pups being sold at inflated prices .
