I have numerous un-needed rugs kicking about. Some are absolutely fine, others might need the odd small repair to make perfect (sew up small holes in Coolex rug; replace a front strap on fleece rug, etc) but all are too good to throw away and I cant be bothered to sell them on eBay!

Does anyone know the address of a worthy charity I could post them to? Cheers. :)

Redwings would be very grateful, visit their website or email someone and they will tell you where to send them :)

What a nice thing to do. Im sure the charity who receives them will be very greatful as it sounds like lots of people are now just taking oldies and unwanted horses to charities instead of taking responsibility for them.

My friend looked after her horse like a king and he had numerous expensive rugs (even tho she wasnt rich). When he finally went she gave them to WHW and they thought it was their birthday because there were so many and looked practically new and were all Fal type ones, really good quality.

It made her feel better, knowing all those needy horses were wearing his rugs and all snuggly warm.

HorseWorld in Bristol is another charity that happily take in rug donations. Those that they don't currently need they sell in their shop, with the proceeds going towards the upkeep on the horses.

So pleased you posted this, iv got numerous rugs and was wondering which charity to send them to. They're all large rugs also 6"9, 7". Bought them for my big chap but they either don't fit across his shoulders anymore or never did so are brand new and I never bothered to take them back! All turnouts.

Not wishing to take any away from the other charities mentioned or any that you personally prefer to donate to but if anyone is local to Yorkshire and wants to donate rugs we really appreciate them

We have over 30 horses at present and a lot of oldies. Any rugs that we cannot use we sell to make proceeds for the sanctuary but we end up using most as you never know what size horse you're going to get in next!

Thanks in advance and well done everyone for thinking of donating to charities, I know whereever you send them will really appreciate them :)
