So as some of you saw we had our 8 month old GSD at the vets on Friday. He has slightly swollen lymph nodes and conjunctivitis. We have meloxicam and eye ointment.
The eyes have cleared up nicely- no more gunk etc.
This morning though he has green nasal discharge, is sneezing and snorting quite abit more than he was previously. This has settled slightly since his meloxicam.
He doesn't appear lethargic he has eaten all his breaskfast.
Would you be at the vets again?
I get the feeling he might need some sort of antibiotic but the vet was not concerned about a return unless he had D+V.

i did read your original post and i wondered if it was kcough as like human flu affects different dog in different ways?

He could have a grass seed up his nose, so worth asking the vet what they think...

As for Kcough, unless it's a targeted vaccine, they can still get it.

Oh dear me... I shall ask the question! It is a targeted vaccine for kc he had, has to have it for his kennel stays :)

I would definitely be back at the vets. I was surprised when you said it was just conjunctivitis after your first post but I'm probably more paranoid than most. Hope you get to the bottom of it.

It doesn't really sound like kennel cough, main symptom is usually a retching cough. Like amymay I would be wondering if its a grass seed, or even a blade of grass. Our Lancashire Heeler had several days of being unwell, reverse sneezing and runny nose and eventually sneezed up a long piece of grass. He must have eaten it and it had worked his way from his throat into his nasal cavity, poor little dog.

Goodness me. He had been eating grass the past couple of week- or pulling at the long grass so it's a distinct possibility!

Well that's us back and in total around £200 lighter - I under estimated the cost of antibiotics clearly!! Vet is hopeful that a 5 day course will clear things up of not she will scope. Fingers crossed things will clear up :)
He is now staying well and truly away from me after having his nose cleaned... his eye drops in... taking to the vets... had his temperature done(good god of looks could have killed then!)
