Merlin is living out this year and is not clipped. He is welsh D x ISH and is not woolly but has a decent coat.
Feed wise he is getting a scoop each of sugar beet and molassed chaff with half of nuts, garlic, glug of corn oil and a joint suppliment. He is on 5 acres with one other pony and the grass is still decent in quantity, not sure about quality at this time of the year though.
He seems to have been warm enough so far, but with the temperature dropping now do you think he will be warm enough in a Rambo Duo without a liner??? Its 100g on its own.
I do have a 200g and 300g liner, but not a 100g liner at the moment, and I think that to put the 200g liner in (making the rug 300g) would be too warm.
What do you think?? I see plenty of similar type horses out without any rug at all, so am I just being soft??
Sorry its long and rambling.... thats just how i feel tonight!
