Just because I am so ecstatic, I thought I would provide an update on my mare's rehabilitation progress.
A while back (seems like for ever but it isn't) my horse was kicked by another on the inside of her hock. After emergency surgery, week in hospital, box rest and starting walking everyday, I made the decision to start trotting yesterday (Sunday) after almost succumbing to a flying dismount courtesy of a series of bucks on Saturday. She is a warmblood so am surprised I have got away without drama for so long. All I can say is that she was an absolute star! Obviously didn't trot for long, only around 5 minutes after a long warm up walking but she just came into the contact and was as good as gold. Absolutely no nonsense, just some sass! Asked the livery manager to have a look as I was concerned incase there were be any signs of lameness, but other than a bit of stiffness, which is to be expected, she is okay to carry on building up her trotting. I am so happy!!
