can't remember if I have posted one at all since it was done on the 5th August

I was hoping they would replace the ankle and not fuse it. Which they have done:)

I am now nearly 9wks on and doing fab!! Tendons and Ligaments are taking a while to strengthen but then after 18months of being knackered they will.

I now have my car back!

I can walk without crutches so long as it is not too far.

The joint feels great but obviously still getting painful tendons etc

Doing physio twice a week as I have injured my back too as a result of uneven gait

I could be riding in 3 or 4 weeks:):):):) and I can't wait. Physio actually said it will strengthen it

So pleased all going well! I fractured my ankle on 10 Aug and had plate, screws and pins in my tibia as I fractured my tibia up through the joint surface. My consultant says I'm likely to get traumatic arthritis in my ankle and fusing it would be an option.

It worried me about fusing the ankle but it sounds like its the best thing to do! Can you still wear heels and ride with heel down or is it fused flat? Keep posting on your progress and hope you can ride in a few weeks!

Good luck!

wish you lots of luck for a good one this time

Thanks very much! It was a good one last time for three years until one of the horses reared up and kicked out mid tantrum, and knocked everything out of place again!

Take your time with the physio and don't run before you can walk (literally!). The longer you take strengthening it (like fittening a horse) the better it will be.
