**Update** Diamond in the rough Pt.2 - PICTURE HEAVY

Can't find most of my pictures!

Anyway,
Monday I decided to see how he felt about being lunged. So I popped on his headcollar and got out a lunge line and whip. Tried sending him out and he kept looking at me like 'but pleaseeeee let me stay.' In the end he got the hang of it on the left rein. He came in after a minute or two and rested his nose on my shoulder and head into my chest!!! We had a snuggle for a good few minutes and I sent him back out for another minute or two. He actually seemed to enjoy it!
Sadly I took no pictures!

Tuesday morning and I decided he could try his sisters bridle on. He looked confused but he was just so so trusting. It couldn't go small enough for him so I'm going to leather punch it but here he is in it!

His ears were STILL forward, little champ.

Did a tiny bit of long reigning Tuesday afternoon which again he showed an excellent attitude to everything he was asked.

Will post more pictures tomorrow :)

He is a cracker ! My heart sank when I read the post about the bandages though - someone always has to say something. Why is that  Pony arrived at his new home safely, and is blissfully happy.

I love this thread and a happy ending aka pony rescued in sorry old saga then duckling to swan. Fab. Must say I found the bandages amusing and in real world an unknown little pony who may not be so trusting? I would have done exactly the same as the pony is probably an unknown quantity so I think it was a wonderful job(bandages) when all you want to do is get the little chap home! Safely. What was the issue? Strange... ignore, we know you know.

Keep posting and if I had more knowledge I would be doing exactly the same as you. Fab job. Good luck with him, he now deserves a happy ending in a new home(but yes go on keep him and one and two and three more.............). Fab chap.

Thanks he's a star! After 2 days earlier in the week of him having no idea of being caught, he is now perfect! I kept chasing him off the other day until he stood to be caught. Now you shout him and he meets you half way :) clever boy!
Who's going to start the bidding? 10k starting bid? ;)

Sorry meant to say, re. bandages, everyone can think what they like as long as they can appreciate it was our own judgement call to make and nothing bad came of it. Lets not let it dampen anything :)

Bandages - for 15 minutes, he wore bandages that didn't look like dressage warm ups! I think you should be banned and he should go back to his stinky barn.

Seriously, what a lovely pony and well done you. He looks like a little star.

I think Cs maximum height is 13.2, they can be as small as you like, it comes down to what mum and dad were registered as, not how big he is.

I have 10p? :p more than one actually, but sadly I don't think there are another 99,000 hiding down the back of the sofa :(

Hr sounds like a superstar Elsiecat and I am really looking forward to following his progress :)

Haha! In the paddock he goes in there's a low tape fence with no electric. It's there to save the other side as none of the others can be bothered jumping it. It's about 80cm tall and he just trots up to it, clears it by a good few inches and goes for a snack on the other side!
The taller tape fencing and the proper outside fences he completely respects, I think he 'mistakes' this one for a jump!

Don't miss the opportunity for a showjumper of a lifetime!! Raid your 10p's!

I have no idea how high ponies generally jump in SJ all I know is he's got more energy for popping a fence (no pun intended) than my TBs! Why can't I be small :(

My girl in my sig is sec.B, 13.1 and jumps like a toad. Well she's nearly 28 now so not so much these days. She did clear a 5ft wide ditch by 2ft from a standstill the other week when she couldn't be bothered walking back down the stream bank to cross where it levelled out

I'm small  Trying to work out just how small I can be.... :D

When I was a tot I had a glorious little 11.2 pony. I only used her for gymkhanas and maybe a go around the peter pan course but she could pop over standard post and rail fencing from practically a stand-still if desired. I think those cheeky ponies can usually jump a lot higher than they'd like us to realise!

Well done on your little diamond, he's a handsome chap indeed. :)

Haha ponies are fab! I might put him on steroids and shorten my stirrups, they'd never notice us in the kids gymkhana!

Hello Elsiecat, watching that little chap with great interest. He's going to be a little star. Hopefully we'll see some video one of these days! Would be lovely to watch his progress.
