Just passing through...
Started new regime today
D1 had a lesson on her in 'our new school', i.e. the one at the yard (we're the only ones there, so it's a bit like it's 'ours'
).
Both the Dizz and the D1 were stars
I went into the field and got Dizz in. She was fine and calm
. Stressed a tad in the stable and I got a whallop across a shoulder, so we had a wee discussion
, which consisted of me asking her nicely and quietly to move over and back up and move, etc., which she quickly settled into, dropped her head and listened to me
. Left D1 to tack up whilst we went for a last check over of the school. D1 got a bit sidetracked grooming, so I gave a hand to tack up; I think Dizz knew we were now in a hurry because she lifted her head, never quite too high for me though, so I got her bridle on okay
In the school (still can't remember how to spell 'menage'!), Dizz round fairly fast in walk and trot, but D1 stayed quiet and calm and the Dizz came back to her
. First time in this school
. Other than a mahooosive spook when a child threw a ball for a dog and it shot past the end of the hedge just as Dizz was coming past it, she was very, very good indeed
. Oh, and very well sat D1 as a stonker buck followed the spook
. Definately feeling very full of it
. The buck after a spook is unusual, only done that once before, round about this time last year.
So, all in all, very pleased with the two of them
And a very big thank you to D2 for poo picking and to D for moving rubber mats into place
