I hope I have done this correctly but here is a photograph which was taken of him and I on Monday. You wouldn't believe this time last year he was fighting for his life basically. He's in rude health and is as keen as he was as a 3yr old! So introducing Here Comes Touble......

Lovely!

I remember your posts well and I must say it did sound at one point that he wouldn't make it. Glad to hear that he pulled through well and made a full recovery!

Fab photo, and cracking horse.

Remind us what was wrong with him........

We never actually got to the bottom of what was wrong with him but he had over 5-6 weeks of being extremely sick. Literally lost 100kgs over night and couldn't support his weight and was very ataxic. He had ultrasounds, stomach taps, every type of blood, muscle enzyme test imaginable and a long time on Cobactan. We (Rossdales) put it down to a "virus" I had a huge amount of online support from you guys on here. Very much appreciated as we did think we were going to lose him. It was a horrible time but £5,000 later (just paid it off WHOOP!!) and he's had a summer on his back.

Hard to believe that he's 20 years old!

:D :D Yes he's a 1991 foal so 21 in January!!

He is just thriving. He hasn't jumped a coloured pole for over 5 years. He was a complete dirty dog in yester years and poles used to fly everywhere. Basically I was teenager when I got him and we were prepping him for the breeze-ups. I wanted him so he was bought for me. Anyway long story short, he pony clubbed as a youngster, then tried eventing and failed miserably, then ran over hurdles (badly) - shattered a pastern, Point to Pointed (badly), hunts (amazingly) and has been worth his weight in gold as a lead horse for the yearlings, 2yr olds etc.

So anyway I popped him over a coloured pole on Saturday and he launched over it, then we did a few X Poles and finished with a vertical. He was honestly like Pegasus, he didn't touch a pole and was clearing them as if it was a Puissance wall! He was bucking and swinging his head he throughly adored it! I was jumping with a friend who events professionally and she was very impressed with his jump! I had to tell her that it was due to her eventers in the paddocks watching him and also her presence :)

He's a grand lad :p

fan-bloody-tastic news, he looks fit as flea and that picture just makes me want to be there galloping alongside :D Glad things came right for you :D

I just re-read the 200 odd posts on the last thread, several of which were mine, and I cannot believe the picture you have posted at the top of this one!

Fabulous, fabulous news and so glad you have been able to give us this wonderful update. Also, you never mentioned he was in his late teens!!!!!

Thank you again :) For someone who's racing minded he is my first OAP - so this is new territory as such! He's looked after as well as any racehorse in the country. He hates the cold so is very well rugged and loves his creature comforts and coming into his stable is very important to him. He still kicks and bucks when you take his feed into him. He's a bit of a Peter Pan! Brighteyes thank you - I remember you commenting on the thread when he was sick. I hadn't realised that I didn't mention his age before. I suppose that went out of the window when we were trying to get him better. I know I am biased but he is the most fabulous colour bay and his coat is like silk. I just keep looking at his head - so noble and so intelligent. Lots of pats for him this evening (before he's fed!!)

I remember this and thought of you the other day. My old YO horse had a similar but less severe illness and it reminded me of your posts. Her horse is now much better and improving daily.

So pleased to see your pics and how fabulous he looks. Very cheering:)

MrsD - the way he's moving and feeling I think he'd like to be back on the track. He's a cantankerous old g1t and as soon as he feels anything coming close to upsides he's off! There's a rather hilarious photo of him in mid trying to take off with me when he looks like a wild beast :)

Poppy Moo & Lady La La - I know this time last year I was sunning myself in Australia getting ready for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup - so scary how time passes us by.... For me it is a sign of my age - not knowing your ages I will not comment :D

Trish C - thank you! He's a handsome chap - luckily he's not like the Ginger Knobber with his shoes so is wellie free for the time being :D
